Everyone should have the opportunity to live a healthy, active and fulfilling life and we believe that this isn’t something that should change with age. However, when physical/cognitive challenges mean it becomes impossible for someone to stay in their normal home, we welcome them to ours. At Kirklands Care Group, we are dedicated to maintaining our resident’s quality of life, whether this is low-level day-to-day support or specialist Dementia care.
No two residents are the same, and this can mean that the approach to the care that we offer can be different for everyone who calls a Kirklands residential property “home”. We take the time to get to know each member of our family, and ensure that they are afforded the dignity, choice and opportunity for independence that they deserve.
We don’t only offer homes by name - we strive to make them homes by nature too, by creating warm, friendly and comfortable environments where residents feel relaxed, happy and supported. We actively engage with local communities and encourage visits from family and friends.
The staff here are very friendly and hardworking. Nothing is too much trouble; they are very kind to the residents. They know everyone by name and take a genuine interest in the residents and their families. The food is good and freshly prepared on site and my Mum loves it. If we’ve had any questions, these have been dealt with promptly and efficiently. Best of all, I know that Mum is safe here so I don’t need to worry about here
Operations Manager
I started my career in care as a Health Care Assistant and have progressed and worked my way up through the Health and Social Care Industry, working across many services such as mental health, learning disability, children's services and dementia nursing reaching the position of Area Manager.
In 2021 I joined Kirklands Care as their Operations Manager overseeing all of their care homes. Kirklands Care is a family run business that shared my own beliefs of care and that the residents care is of upmost priority and this for me comes first. My love of spending time with the residents shines through my work, hearing their stories and having the ability to make a difference in their lives. Every resident I care for is treated how I would expect my family member to be cared for which for me is with love dignity and respect. My role allows me to work with families to take the pressure off whilst allowing them to feel their loved one is in a suitable environment, is safe and cared for.
Facilites Manager
My role at the company as the Facilities Manager is ensuring all our homes are safe and compliant for all our employees and residents residing with us. I visit each of the homes regularly to carry out health & safety audits, fire safety checks and lead the maintenance teams on the various tasks involved with the upkeep and environment of the homes.
Over the years I have developed key skills in facilities management and project management alike which include planning, directing and maintaining continuous operations in various departments. I am skilled at identifying or anticipating problems, providing solutions and excel through mentoring, training and empowering the team to excel in performance. For our homes, I have been able to apply a creative and analytical approach to operations for continuous process improvement.
